I thought this was an excellent product, until a couple of weeks ago. It started sinking -- it wouldn't stay in the position I had set in. I took a close look, noticed there were some screws, and got out an Allen wrench and tightened the four screws. Three of the screws seemed to tighten some, but one did not no matter how much I tried. But with three more-or-less tightened, I set it back up with my laptop, and it immediately sank again. I have had to put a small box under it to keep it from collapsing completely. When it was tight, it was great! And solved some neck and wrist strain I had been having, and I was afraid of my laptop overheating, and it helped that problem as well. I am totally OK with the concept that the user may need to retighten the stand after a period of use, but being unable to do so is frustrating, and makes me very unhappy it's useless after only 9 months.I use this to place my work from home laptop on, below my monitors, and it works perfectly. The hinges are very sturdy, and hold their positions flawlessly.Really great product. It's sturdy and yet fairly lightweight. The best thing about it is that it feels like it is really well made. Very solid.I purchased this item for it's intended use--to hold my laptop. Unfortunately, it didn't manage to do so. I have a 14" Lenovo and when I put it on this stand it just leaned forward until it hit the tabletop.Now there is a possibility that the one I received was a defect, but since I'm tired of giving second chances on these items, I decided to not even bother to find out so back it went. I wish it had worked...This laptop stand is really sturdy. I especially like it, that the blue cover for my MacBook Air works with this stand. The dimensions of the pads (see white nubs in the second photo) for the cover fits exactly on the outside of the boundary of the stand. This keeps the laptop from sliding left or right and makes it very stable without using the rubber pads, which came with the stand. My wife especially likes this stand, as she has neck problems and pains, and this stand provides better ergonomics and allow her to sit and work for longer periods of time.This is a perfect candidate if you need a quick cheap stand for your laptop. Pros: It's light and sturdy. Cons: edges are a little sharp, the clutch doesn't always hold the position. folds to one-half inch.i leave it in one location, so the sharp edges won't beat up my backpack sleeveThis laptop stand works perfectly for me. It’s light weight and it lifted my laptop to the height I needed to work at home each day… This laptop stand wasn’t one of those larger stands but lightweight and perfect for my work laptop. The amount of money spent was a no brainer for this lightweight..Excellent quality and is sturdy.
